Under the name of the Museums of Esplugues, we include two sites related to the museums Can Tintur\u00e9 and \u201cLa Rajoleta\u201d. Both of them share the same subject and complement each other in their discourse about ceramics production. The two sites are situated geographically opposite each other, separated by Esgl\u00e9sia street.<\/p>\n

The Masoveria building which replaces Can Tintur\u00e9\u2019s previous farm carries out the museum\u2019s auxiliary functions: multi-purpose conference room, meeting room, administrative offices and space reserved for deposits and collections.<\/p>\n

Can Tintur\u00e9 exhibits the sample tile collection of Salvador Miquel. It is a type of ceramic tile of very affluent production, usually with a geometric theme, to reproduce a drawing infinitely. The collection essentially Catalan tiles, has more than three thousand pieces, ranging from the fourteenth century until the mid-nineteenth century. In other words, the collection ends when the factory \u201cLa Rajoleta\u201d starts its activity.<\/p>\n

Visiting the current exhibition of \u201cThe Rajoleta\u201d introduces us to the background and early history and manufacture of the pottery factory \u201cPujol i Bausis\u201d which acquired a very outstanding role of reference during the Modernism period. In spite of the provisional nature of the plants, the great variety and singular type of joining furnaces give some uniqueness to the whole.<\/p>\n

Mision<\/h3>\n

Its mission is to work for the preservation, the collection, the study, the promotion and the propagation of the production of sample tiles and productive history of the Bausis i Pujol factory, as patrimonial axes and essential economic revitalization of Esplugues\u2019 identity and the town\u2019s external image. It is lso the interpretation of the historical, industrial and cultural ceramic heritage in Catalonia.<\/p>\n
