A new temporary contemporary ceramics exhibition brings the creative experience of international artists Anne-Laure Cano and Jim Gladwin to Can Tinturé.
Drawing on Esplugues’s pottery tradition, the history of the Pujol i Bausis factory and the documentary collections in the Municipal Archive, the artists have crafted new pieces which are striking for their intensity, textures and originality.

The exhibition
Translate is the Esplugues Museums’ first experience of a co-creation venture with artists, and is part of its commitment to and championing of artistic ceramics as a first-rate discipline.
What will be on show in the rooms is the conclusion of a project which has taken over two years of effort and addresses three key aspects:
- The relationship between the past and the present.
- The acknowledgment of the ceramist’s work.
- The contemporary artist’s creative process.
Structure
An exhibition which encourages visitors to explore four themes – memory, craft, tradition and emotion – through contemporary pieces and old photographs of “La Rajoleta”.
